Crazy Chatman releases a new album entitled “We Shall Dance”, a single that is accompanied by an interesting audiovisual work generated by the same artist..
“This piece was created from and during the confinement. It is a call, an invitation to go out and move. As simple as that.
The drum machine stands out as the main engine, accompanied by saturated sounds and somewhat melancholic melodies. It starts from the basics and becomes more complex, dramatizing. The letters enter as one more texture within the composition, without being absolutely clear, they help to generate context. Listening to this song takes on a deeper meaning when accompanied by the video, which introduces us to following a character through a black and white recording loaded with suspense.
“Although it is simple, it has nuances, like any individual process. This work is a demonstration or proposal, from a personal point of view, about the need and decision to move. However, everyone can interpret it in their own way. For me, the character needed to come out from a genuine place, and in that process the idea of accompanying it with an audiovisual piece was born. I realized that the result had a lot of theatricality and I found it interesting to expand it towards the visual aspect of the piece with whatever equipment I had available. This made it more meaningful, a job born and worked from confinement is a job with what you have. I created a script from the lyrics and parts of the song, and from that I started to record with what I had in hand in a place that seemed interesting to me for the context I needed”.
“The script is about a character who leaves confinement towards “freedom”, going through different personal processes – which can be detected- but it is difficult to know clearly what happens to the character: if it is feeling joy, the need to escape, freedom or fear. I’m not looking for it to have a super clear explanation, rather that everyone interprets it in their own way.”
