From June 15-17, Sónar+D, the Sónar Festival’s digital culture and creative technologies event, will offer a unique space to explore the impact of AI on music, film and the arts. The festival will address both the practical applications of AI in music and audiovisual production, as well as the ethical and social implications of its use. In addition, special attention will be given to the climate emergency and how artistic communities can raise awareness and take action. With a wide variety of talks, lectures, presentations and exhibitions, Sónar+D promises to be an inspiring and enriching event.
The centerpiece of the festival will be AI in the arts, and will feature leading experts such as Kate Darling, an expert in robotic ethics, and the Domestic Data Streamers collective, who will discuss the outcomes and risks of applying AI in the arts. There will also be sessions on the relationship between AI and music, film, audiovisual art and creativity at the AI & Web3 Creatives Summit symposium. The Music Innovation Forum and the Art, Science and Technology Forum will offer debates and open conversations on the current and future situation of the music industry and the relationship between art, science and society.
In addition, Sónar+D will feature a new Project Area that will showcase more than 80 projects in areas such as music and sound, art and science, design, augmented and virtual realities, and creative games. The event’s schedule is adapted to both professionals and students as well as the general public, with educational activities and debates in the morning, and presentations, talks and concerts in the afternoon.
