Amanda Chang, synthesist, DJ, music producer and music researcher from Brazil. She began her career in 2009, as a resident DJ at in Privilège (Búzios), after a short walk she reached D-edge, Warung and
important parties of the underground scene, he also participated in major festivals, such as Rock in Rio (2015), to later take off in Europe. Amanda is currently studying a Master in Music in Unicamp, also writes, produces videos, content, which combines with yoga and its philosophy. In this article she tell us about that combination and the role that his music plays in this path of healthy life.
In 2016 I started with the modular ones, with the orientation of Ernesto Romeo. We met in the same year in ADE. I went many times to the Siesta del Fauno, to study. Since then I have been very dedicated to synthesizers, expanding the possibilities of making music not only danceable, but also electroacoustic, experimental and for meditative purposes.
My trajectory with music, along with the philosophy and practice of yoga, were fundamental for my evolution, in the sense of being calmer, more concentrated, of taking life more lightly. I had a significant change in my lifestyle, I became a vegetarian and I do not smoke.
It helped me connect with what makes my heart beat, and believe in myself. Of course, not just living on intentions. It is about perseverance, methodology and organization to achieve my goals.
I am an imperfect human being who seeks and tries to connect with the meaning of life. I try to enjoy my time here, on this trip, nourishing myself with knowledge and spirituality. I am looking for a way to express myself creatively and communicate my truth, through sound and musical experiences, trying to accept my mistakes and successes, trying not to charge myself so much, enjoying each experience to the fullest.
The feeling I have is that time is flying by. I go to nature constantly to connect.
Yoga corresponds to the breaking of everything that connects the spirit with the world. In addition to calming, controlling and stopping the modifications of the mind, it is also defined as the knowledge that overcomes “death”.
Indian systems of philosophy, as well as traditional knowledge, have been transmitted orally for millennia, from person to person.
I was very curious about the chakras during the philosophy and practice of yoga. Since then, I began to investigate and put into practice forming Frequencies Sonoras, a combination of yoga, which prepares listeners for immersive listening to ancestral instruments and electronics, which is like a harmonizer and enhancer of all aspects of the human being; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
At the moment I use the tempered frequency scale, which helps me refine and reconcile the whole.
The chakras are energy centers, which are located in the subtle body and have the function of absorbing, accumulating, transforming and distributing prana (vital energy). They have energy fields, which correspond, on the physical plane, to the nervous plexuses, which also govern the gross elements (ether, air, fire, water and earth), as well as the organs or physical part of the senses of perception and action. Each of the 5 senses is linked to a Chakra.
The following image corresponds to Frequencies Sonoras, 3 hours of listening experience; listening, meditation, mantras, ancient and electronic instruments. Sounds of brain frequencies and energy centers (chakras).

In my career on the dance floors I could see that music has different effects on our mood and, in one way or another, our ancestors also noticed this phenomenon and began to use musical notes for magical-religious purposes. Although each culture has its own characteristic rhythms, the essence of the music used by shamans, sorcerers or even some contemporary religions, remains the same: it is used to provoke a state of openness in the person in relation to the ideas they are testing. to instill. Therefore, some repetitive rhythms can cause real hallucinatory states.
In this way, I continue to investigate with the purpose of structuring and legitimizing my musical research both in the academic field and in the ancestral sacred books.
This little demo wich follows, from my studio, was a jam session, tuning into the front chakra, the sixth: Ajna Chakra, located on the forehead, between the eyebrows and is the center of intuition and prediction. The function of this Chakra is driven by the principle of vision and imagination.
I synthesized a drone using 4 sawtooth waveforms from different oscillators that passed through a Low pass filter, active with 2 poles. I made 2 sounds, one made by the modular and the other by Moog DFAM, both coming out of a noise generator, one passing through the Bandpass filter and the other, Low-Pass and a soft melody made on the Moog Mother 32. A very patch basic, with the intention of energizing.
Here I leave the invitation so that you know my channels and music.
